A 3 day workshop with artist Omar Ortiz in Istanbul. Explore the essentials & anatomy of Omar’s famously beautiful hyperrealistic oil paintings, how to start your own piece and find personal success with Omar acting as your guide and friend throughout the process. There will be several private seminars, demos, and one-on-one’s throughout the 3 days.
Introduction
10 am-6 pm
You will be discussing as a group and individually all the materials you’ll be working throughout the course of the three days. Omar will review your painting prep sketch. This will be followed soon by Tinting & Priming your canvas with acrylic paint, and going into deep detail about color mixing and preparation for all of your ideal skin tones to achieve. You will have the opportunity to see how Omar personally selects his skin tone set for all of his pieces as he will be doing exclusive demo’s throughout the day for you. You will have many opportunities for one-on-one time to talk about your style, your preferences and your inspirations throughout the day.

You will continue your painting from Day 1, and along the way see the process of how Omar’s work develops in many different areas as he will continue to do very detailed demonstrations throughout sections of his painting. The goal for you is to really focus on the step-by-step process of your work as you will still have one-on-one time with Omar for advice & guidance!
Solving Your Doubts
10 am-6 pm
Omar will continue with other highly important aspects of setting examples for you to develop your overall process, troubleshoot any potential problems you may face which will help you complete your piece outside the workshop. There will still be several one-on-one opportunities to help guide your painting. There will be many group discussions throughout the day, general talks to solve any doubts, providing new tips & advice.
You will hear an inspiring talk of Omar’s personal inspirations, painters that he loves to follow, among many other things such as studio lighting, camera set-up and documentation, social media building, etc.
